Patoranking: The Nigerian Face Of Reggae and Dancehall Music

Sharing that he worked on the project for two years, and having his daughter as a major inspiration Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie professionally known as Patoranking also announced the release of his new album ‘Wilmer’ which doubles up as the name of his daughter and second child.

The album listening party which came up yesterday, May 21, 2019 at the Temple road, Ikoyi, Lagos saw the 2016 Best Dancehall Artist host friends and fans to a private and conversational listening to his 12-track alluring album.

The Nigerian entertainment did not leave the father of two to perform his album to empty chairs as they gathered round him to show support and love. In attendance were the like of Cobams Asuquo, Timi Dakolo, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Spinall and Neptune, Phyno, Larry Gaaga, Sound Sultan, Ric Hassani, Seyi Shay, Omawunmi, D’banj, Victor AD, Orezi, Chinko Ekun, Denrele Edun, the Nigerian skipper at the 2014 World Cup, Joseph Yobo and the internet’s favorite duo, Tiwa Savage and Wizkid who almost stole the show from the original celebrant.

Off 12-track album are two released singles, Lenge Lenge and Confirm ft. Davido.

With each song having a theme and meaning, Patoranking took the invited guests through a listening where he also revealed that the fifth track, ‘Black’ emphasizing Freedom.
